My entry

Thứ sáu, 08/05/2009 - 10:56:pm

Wow, so long not seen anybody, I guess I missed people so much :). This entry might be a little weird because it is written in English-my favourite language, he he, but I hope people will enjoy it! (in different ways :)>).

This is the entry about my favourite novels: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn, which named in VNese as Chang. Vang., Tra(ng Non, Nhat. Thu*c. and Binh` Minh Tan Vo*~ (this episode will be translated in VNese one day, I hope it will appear soon here :X:X). Today, I will post the topic about what did Edward Cullen said in the third novel-Eclipse!

High school. Or was purgatory the right word? (moi. ng` cho sr truoc la` chua duoc doc. Eclipse vi` tinh` hinh` la` chuyen~ phat' nhanh cua~ EMS bi. van' de`, quyen~ sach' dang' ra Zen nhan. cach' day 1 tuan` hien. gio` dang mat' ta(m roi` >"<).
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.1

I’d seen the new face repeated in thought after thought from every angle. Just an ordinary human girl. The excitement over her arrival was tiresomely predictable – like flashing a shiny object at a child. Half the sheep-like males were already imagining themselves in love with her, just because she was something new to look at.

Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.2

It was just the same as having my name called aloud. I was glad my given name had fallen out of style lately – it had been annoying; anytime anyone thought of any Edward, my head would turn automatically…
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.2

Alice and I were good at these private conversations. It was rare that anyone caught us.
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.3

Was it really necessary to experiment like this? Wouldn’t the safer path be to just admit that he might never be able to handle the thirst the way the rest of us could, and not push his limits? Why flirt with disaster?
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.3

But humans rarely walked too close. Their instincts told them what their conscious minds would never understand: we were dangerous.
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.3

We had to stick together, Alice and I. It wasn’t easy, hearing voices or seeing visions of the future. Both freaks among those who were already freaks. We protected each other’s secrets.
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.4

Though Rosalie and Emmett were more flagrant about their relationship, it was Alice and Jasper who knew each other’s every mood as well as their own. As if they could read minds, too – only just each other’s.
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.5

It used to be nearly impossible to escape her constant, ridiculous daydreams. I’d wished, at the time, that I could explain to her exactly what would have happened if my lips, and the teeth behind them, had gotten anywhere near her. That would have silenced those annoying fantasies.
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.6

I tried to block the inane chatter out of my head before the petty and the trivial could drive me mad.
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.6

Rather unimaginative, actually. Just the barest hint of scandal. Not an ounce of horror. I’m a little disappointed.
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.7

I acted as a lookout, for lack of a better word, for my family. To protect us. If anyone ever grew suspicious, I could give us early warning and an easy retreat. It happened occasionally – some human with an active imagination would see us in the characters of a book or a movie. Usually they got it wrong, but it was better to move on somewhere new than to risk scrutiny. Very, very rarely someone would guess right. We didn’t give them a chance to test their hypothesis. We simply disappeared, to become no more than a frightening memory…
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.7

Jessica and her classmates had no idea how lucky they were that none of them particularly appealed to me.
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.9

Perhaps it was just some long buried protective instinct – the strong for the weak. This girl looked more fragile than her new classmates.
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.10

I didn’t want to fail at this – it irritated me. And I didn’t want to develop any interest in her hidden thoughts simply because they were hidden from me. No doubt, when I did decipher her thoughts – and I would find a way to do so – they would be just as petty and trivial as any human’s thoughts. Not worth the effort I would expend to reach them.
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.10

So, is the new one afraid of us yet?
Emmett Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.11

The humans weren’t smart enough to know that they feared me, but their survival instincts were enough to keep them away.
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.11

Her scent hit me like a wrecking ball, like a battering ram. There was no image violent enough to encapsulate the force of what happened to me in that moment. In that instant, I was nothing close to the human I’d once been; no trace of the shreds of humanity I’d managed to cloak myself in remained. I was a predator. She was my prey. There was nothing else in the whole world but that truth.
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.12

I was a vampire, and she had the sweetest blood I’d smelled in eighty years.
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.12

Her glance met mine, and I saw myself reflected in the wide mirror of her eyes. The shock of the face I saw there saved her life for a few thorny moments.
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.13

I knew what had to happen now. The girl would have to come sit beside me, and I would have to kill her.
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.14

She would not have time to scream or feel pain; I would not kill her cruelly. That much I would give this stranger with her horribly desirable blood.
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.14

The monster in my head smiled in anticipation.
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.15

In a few moments, there would be nothing left in me that would reflect the years I’d spent with my creator, my mentor, my father in all the ways that counted. My eyes would glow red as a devil’s; all likeness would be lost forever.
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.16

I knew that he would forgive me for this horrible act that I would do. Because he loved me. Because he thought I was better than I was. And he would still love me, even as I now proved him wrong.
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.16

Why did she have to come here? Why did she have to exist? Why did she have to ruin the little peace I had in this non-life of mine? Why had this aggravating human ever been born? She would ruin me.
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.17

Hating her, hating how she made me feel – it helped a little.
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.18

It was sophistry to think that by saving the nineteen humans in this room with effort and patience, I would be less a monster when I killed this innocent girl.
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.20

I had things ordered the way I liked them now. Why should I let some aggravating and delicious nobody ruin that?
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.21

I was the last person who would ever stand as a protector for Isabella Swan. She would never need protection from anything more than she needed it from me. (Toi chinh la` nguoi` cuoi cung se bao ve Isabella Swan. Co ay se~ khong bao gio` can` su bao` ve cua bat' ki` mot ai khac ngoai` toi!-Wow wow, can't believe he said it, Jake was very angry but he can't do anything :X. The "sure" in Edward's words express the unconditionally love between he and Bells, and he acted like he is the boss, the one who have the only right to do whatever he wants to protect his lover :X)
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.21

There was no reason for Bella Swan to cross paths with me. She would be avoided like the plague she was.
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.23

As I sped back to Forks doing ninety, I wasn’t sure where I was going. To say goodbye to my father? Or to embrace the monster inside me? The road flew away beneath my tires.
Edward Cullen, Midnight Sun, Chapter 1, p.28

So, as discussed, I am not allowed to wish you a happy birthday, is that correct? (nhu vay. la`, nhu chung ta da thao luan, anh khong duoc phep chuc em mot ngay` sinh nhat vui ve~ phai? ko nao`?)
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 1, p.9

Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 1, p.17

Last spring, when you were… nearly killed… Of course I was trying to focus on finding you alive, but part of my mind was making contingency plans. Well, I wasn’t going to live without you. Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 1, p.20

Bella, the last real birthday any of us had was Emmett in 1935. Cut us a little slack, and don’t be too difficult tonight. They’re all very excited. Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 1, p.23

Bella, you gave yourself a paper cut — that hardly deserves the death penalty.
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 2, p.44

Don’t try to take any of this on yourself, Bella. It will only make me more disgusted with myself. (Dung` co ' nhan lay tat ca ve` min`h Bella a. No se cang` khien' anh ghe tom chinh ban than minh` ma` thoi)

Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 2, p.45

Chi mot trong chung ma` thoi (ha ha, what interesting words. I guess Edward was dislike when Bella said she didn't want anybody to remember her birthday neither any gifts :X))
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 2, p.45

You’re greedy tonight. (Toi nay em that la` tham lam-WOW, this is when Edward and Bella was kissing, a long kiss and so...so...romantic >_<)
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 2, p.51

You’re overestimating my self-control (Em da danh' gia' qua cao su tu chu cua anh roi`-continueing their kisses :">)

Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 2, p.52

Bella, I don’t want you to come with me. (Bella, Anh khong muon em cung di voi anh dau-This is Edward said when he and his family decided to leave Forks, especially is was his idea to leave the town without Bella. Can't believe he thought so foolish that Bella will be less in-danger when she's far away from him. He didn't know that she might caught many troubles when loving him, but in the other side, it was a so interesting life that noone could ever live in. In fact, the love can do anything, although there were many difficulties, Bella still feel Edward's love in any single second and that's worth for everything she had been.)

Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 3, p.69

Of course, I’ll always love you… in a way. But what happened the other night made me realize that it’s time for a change. Because I’m… tired of pretending to be something I’m not, Bella. I am not human. (Di nhien anh se luon yeu em...bang mot cach nao` do'. Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 3, p.70

You’re not good for me, Bella.
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 3, p.70

I promise that this will be the last time you’ll see me. I won’t come back. I won’t put you through anything like this again. You can go on with your life without any more interference from me. It will be as if I’d never existed. (anh hua voi em rang day se la lan cuoi cung ma em nhin` thay anh. Anh se khong bao gio` tro lai Forks nua~. You should probably know that I’m breaking the rules right now. Well, not technically, since he said I was never to walk through his door again, and I came in the window… But, still, the intent was clear.
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 23, p.503

The odds are always stacked against us. Mistake after mistake. I’ll never criticize Romeo again.
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 23, p.508

I thought I’d explained it clearly before. Bella, I can’t live in a world where you don’t exist.(Anh nghi~ rang` minh` da noi ro dieu` do roi` chu'. Bella, ANH KHONG THE SONG TRONG THE GIOI MA NOI DO EM KHONG HE` TON` TAI.)
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 23, p.509

I’m a good liar, Bella. I have to be. (Anh la mot ke noi doi rat tot, Bella a. Anh phai~...)
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 23, p.509

You weren’t going to let go. I could see that. I didn’t want to do it—it felt like it would kill me to do it—but I knew that if I couldn’t convince you that I didn’t love you anymore, it would just take you that much longer to get on with your life. I hoped that, if you thought I’d moved on, so would you. (Em khong bao gio` tu` bo no ca, anh co the thay ro dieu` do. Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 23, p.510

I could see it in your eyes, that you honestly believed that I didn’t want you anymore. The most absurd, ridiculous concept—as if there were any way that I could exist without needing you!
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 23, p.510

You’re not asleep, and you’re not dead. I’m here, and I love you. I have always loved you, and I will always love you. I was thinking of you, seeing your face in my mind, every second that I was away. When I told you that I didn’t want you, it was the very blackest kind of blasphemy.
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 23, p.510

Only you could be more important than what I wanted… what I needed. What I want and need is to be with you, and I know I’ll never be strong enough to leave again. I have too many excuses to stay—thank heaven for that! It seems you can’t be safe, no matter how many miles I put between us.
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 23, p.513

Before you, Bella, my life was like a moonless night. Very dark, but there were stars—points of light and reason… And then you shot across my sky like a meteor. Suddenly everything was on fire; there was brilliancy, there was beauty. When you were gone, when the meteor had fallen over the horizon, everything went black. Nothing had changed, but my eyes were blinded by the light. I couldn’t see the stars anymore. And there was no more reason for anything.
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 23, p.514

My heart hasn’t beat in almost ninety years, but this was different. It was like my heart was gone—like I was hollow. Like I’d left everything that was inside me here with you.
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 23, p.515

I cannot be without you, but I will not destroy your soul.
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 23, p.518

You will always be the most beautiful thing in my world. Of course… If you outgrew me—if you wanted something more—I would understand that, Bella. I promise I wouldn’t stand in your way if you wanted to leave me.
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 23, p.519

I’ll earn your trust back somehow. It’s my final act.
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 24, p.523

Your hold is permanent and unbreakable. Never doubt that.
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 24, p.524

If there was only some way to make you see that I can’t leave you. Time, I suppose, will be the way to convince you.
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 24, p.524

You, at least, made an effort. You got up in the morning, tried to be normal for Charlie, followed the pattern of your life. When I wasn’t actively tracking, I was… totally useless. I couldn’t be around my family—I couldn’t be around anyone. I’m embarrassed to admit that I more or less curled up into a ball and let the misery have me. It was much more pathetic than hearing voices. And, of course, you know I do that, too.
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 24, p.528

You’re wounding my ego, Bella. I just proposed to you, and you think it’s a joke.
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 24, p.540

Well, I’m nearly a hundred and ten. It’s time I settled down.
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 24, p.540

Because she’d rather you became one of the eternal damned than get married.
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 24, p.541

So eager for eternal damnation.
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Chapter 24, p.546

Charlie… is probably not going to kill you, but he’s thinking about it.
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Epilogue, p.553

Thank you. I will never be able to tell you how grateful I am. I will owe you for the rest of my… existence.
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Epilogue, p.557

I’m a quick learner, Jacob Black, and I don’t make the same mistake twice. I’m here until she orders me away.
Edward Cullen, New Moon, Epilogue, p.558

This is end up for tonight, I have to go to bed now. I promised that I will try to post the full translated sentenced of Edward next time. G9 ^^~
